I think Trump's endgame is to make the United States weak economically, militarily, and diplomatically so it is no longer a major global force. Trump and the Republicans are achieving it. Other nations are finding new trading partners, building new alliances, and reducing their dependence on the United States.
The result is an America that is poorer, less influential, and increasingly isolated. Even after Trump leaves office, much of this damage will remain. America spent 80 years building its wealth and power through cooperation. Trump and the Republicans are dismantling that system, and the rest of the world is learning how to function without America.
Those are the means but what is the end? What do Trump, the powers behind his throne, and the compliant Republicans get from a weak and poor America? How do they benefit and why are they taking down American institutions and it’s global position?
I hope you don't mind my chiming in, but I think the endgame is just Trump. If it doesn't feature him, it isn't a plan. The endgame isn't any deeper than a petri dish, which is sad.
Even his actions against Ukraine seem to be please Vladimir Putin, who he admires. That he gets a favorable response from Putin is all he seeks even if no one else hears it. His tone damages everything he is responsible for because he is nit a responsible person. The same goes for his supporters, especially in his political party.
What is the endgame here in your opinion, Way?
