While the media competes to report crisis, much of the rest of the world is improving
If you believe the news, the world is in crisis and the sky is falling.
It’s not. In fact, many nations are doing quite well, and several are making the change from extractive to inclusive governments and economies, which is how nations become prosperous, stable, and happy.
Poland, Tanzania, Jordan, and the Dominican Republic could not be more different in culture, history, or geography. But they share one vital trait: each is turning away from extractive authoritarian governments where elites control power and wealth to inclusive governments and economies, where rules apply evenly and opportunity is equally available for everyone. Their paths differ, but the outcome is the same: prosperity and a better life for everyone.
