Joanne, I agree with you. Carney is a strategist who keeps his intentions well concealed. But he's also honest; he wants what's best for everyone involved, and he provided Trump with opportunities to negotiate fairly. When Trump failed to see the obvious best route forward, Carney was ready with plans in place and the relationships and apparatus set for Canada to move forward without the U.S.

Michael, the China debt trap, which is what I assume you are referring to in the 'vassa' comment, is a myth. It did not happen in Sri Lanka, the only example given of China's debt trap. Sri Lanka owns 70% of the port and leased the 30% stake to China as collateral for a loan. If you mean something different, please let me know. Way
