The Cultural Prediction: How High Oil Will Get by Year-End
A barrel of American oil, called WTI, will most likely close 2026 between $75 and $88, near today’s price of about $84 (Trading Economics, 29 July 2026). President Trump has the most control over that closing price. He needs cheap gasoline before the 3 November election, so he is working to push the year-end price down.
